I look out of the window and smile at the sight that meets my eyes.

For there in the backyard are my two grandchildren

with their parents playing in the rain. I can remember a time

when I thought I wouldn't see such a sight. After my son, John had

vanished along with Farscape One........Then after about five

years a miracle happened! Farscape One was back and John

wasn't alone. he had brought a friend, her name, Aeryn Sun.

That was fives years ago. And what has happened since I wouldn‘t

have missed for the world. I've seen Aeryn grow and change in ways

I can't believe. Sometimes I forget that Aeryn is an alien. The fact

she can speak, read and write english helps alot. That was John's

doing or so I've been told. He even said he had to force her to learn

at times. I still can't see John forcing Aeryn do to anything, not after

some of their stories anyway. But they do love each other, very much.

I think that's why Aeryn came with John and she doesn‘t have a home

as such to speak of. Not what I'd call a home.

They argue sometimes. What married couple doesn‘t? I can remember

having some real dozzies normally to do with a mission or John.

When they argue Aeryn reverts to speaking sebsean, her native language.

It's interesting to watch trying to guess what they are arguing about.

The first time that happened when the rest of the extended Crchtion family

were here, at the wedding no less! They all wondered what was happening

so I said that John had married a foreign girl. They seemed to accept that.

They just have no idea just how foreign Aeryn is. The only people that

know apart from IASA are myself and DK. I don't mind the fact that my

son has married and alien. I am the only man with an alien daughter in law

and two half alien grandchildren.

Playing in the rain! They'll be in soon, soaked to the skin. That's one thing

Aeryn has never got tired of is rain and snow come to that. She holds her

new home in awe even after five years. She still reminds us how primitive

we are once in a while but John and I don't mind. Aeryn is happy here in

her home and doesn‘t bother to hide it. I'm happy too. I have family here.

John, Aeryn and their children. After ten years I have family again.

What more could a Father want than to have his family at hand.

Here they come time to get the towels.

I can't believe I'm out here in the rain! But then the three kids are having

fun. Yes, Aeryn is like a big kid still. I'd do almost anything to keep

her happy and just to see her smile. After what we've been through I'm

just glad Aeryn is here with me. I can't see myself here without her,

that much is certain. I love her and I want to keep her with me.

When we got back everyone was surprised to see Aeryn.

And when I said she was an alien that had every one.

I wont forget the moment when I said casually as I could

that Aeryn was going to have our baby. I think that brought

all of IASA to a stop. As things turned out it was twins!

A boy and a girl. Dad was pleased as he finally had

grandkids to spoil rotten. And I'm happy to as I can't

think of anyone else who I would want as their mother.

The kids start school soon so that's going to be interesting.

I wonder how Aeryn will go at our first parent teacher night?

The kids have already made friends round about and know

not to say anything about their mother being an alien.

We've never told them anything. They just know that

their mom is different somehow.

Time to go inside. I'm soaked through! But I don't

mind the smile I see on Aeryn's face is worth getting

wet for. I have my family round me so that's all I want.

Dad, DK, Aeryn and the kids. That's my family now.

I hope Dad has the towels handy!

Title: Family: Aeryn

It's raining and we're out in it! I know John's not keen on being

out here but he is all the same. I smile at him and he smiles back.

I love him, really I do. John can be so frustrating at times so can

Jack and DK. But they are my family now and earth is my home.

When I met John all those years ago I didn't know what to think

of him. But when he insisted that I came with him and D'Argo,

my life changed for the better, in the end. But it was a hard road

and John was always there for me. Why I'm not sure. Maybe

because I look human? Who can say. But somewhere along

the way we fell in love and I never looked back.

Once I thought I was here on earth but now I am on earth and

I don't want to leave. So earth is not that technically advanced

but it is a beautiful planet. It's my home and I love it.

IASA has retrieved my prowler from the moon. Where we

left it as we thought it safer to arrive in John's ship.

So maybe there are some good things to come.

I look at our children. They are a product of our love.

When I told John I was going to his baby he was thrilled.

And soon after as luck would have it we found earth!

John and I made the decision to come here as Moya was

no real place to raise a family. So we left Moya, everyone

was sad to see us go but knew we wouldn't be happy if

we stayed. So my family is here with me. my husband

and my children. My father in law and my husband's best

friend. All one big family.

We head for the house as we are all soaked to the skin but

I like rain. I look at John and the look on his face is one

of deep love. I'm smiling, I know it. John always likes it

when I smile. I see the sparkle in his eyes that tells me

he doesn‘t mind being wet because he got to see me smile.

I kiss him as we go inside.

I watch the Colonel looking outside, the smile I see tells me he's happy.

And why wouldn't he be? John is back larger than life or so it seems.

And there is Aeryn, wow what a woman. She is hard to describe but she

is John's wife. And she don't take carp from no one, well ok maybe John,

myself and the Colonel but on one else. She was down at the mall the

other day and this guy was hitting on her. God knows why! You can tell

she's taken she's got a wedding ring on! John doesn‘t say a word but lets

Aeryn do her thing. She walks up to this guy looks him right in the eye

and then drops him with a Paka Jab! Man that was sooo funny.

The Colonel and I couldn't believe it when Farscape One showed up.

The bigger shock was when they landed. I say they as John wasn't alone

he had a ladyfriend in tow by the name of Aeryn Sun, an alien too!

That was a real shock I can tell you. But what the hey after five years

I was just glad to see my best buddy. And the stories, it made Star Trek

look tame! But were they through with the surprises, oh no there was one

more. Aeryn was going to have a baby! So now I'm Uncle DK!

They are just two little miracles those kids. The Colonel and I spoil them

both rotten, much to the distain of their parents. But that's what Uncle's

and Grandad's are for right? I'm sure they know what their mon says when

she speaks her native language, which is rare. At lest they seem to know

what she says. I think it's cool that John and Aeryn have something special

like that between them as John knows what Aeryn is saying and we don't.

I look passed the Colonel. Are they playing in the rain again? There are

going to be four big drips come in, soon. But I sure as hell wouldn't

trade this for anything in the world. I have my best buddy back along

with his family. Family, when I think about, these people are my family.

The Colonel, John, Aeryn and their kids. I've known the Colonel and

John as long as I can remember. Aeryn, she just seemed to fit right in.

As for the little tikes, well they grow on you after a bit, like all kids.

I like this, family all back together.
