Tuesday, 6/1/04 - Checking Back...- While I'm sure that much of my info has gone out of date, I'll be poking around anyway, to fix a few things up. EQ2 got my attention enough that I'm going to do some more EQing - starting a Druid character with my brother. It's not a Ranger, I know... but close. Anyway, I'll be looking at that EXP formula (describing how it works a little) and maybe, if I have lots and lots of time (unlikely; I'm also playing Final Fantasy V), I might fix the spell list up with a little MySQL database. Also, the name of this site annoys me; it's been changed from Eorlin (my Ranger's name, sigh) to Aerolin, until I improve on that one in preparation for EQ2.
Thursday, 6/5/03 - Platinum Update, and Why I Quit Shadowbane, Too- First the interesting bit: Freidrick Swiftarm of the Lanys Server emailed me with some tips on making plat. I'll paraphrase him, because I'm obsessive about my grammar (in other words, I'm not up-to-date on the latest slang like 'zaar, so I'm getting meticulous): "Don't sell in the Bazaar - be a wandering merchant. Buy some cheap Netherbian Chitin and sell it to a grateful newbie for 80-100pp. Spider Silks sell for 3-6pp each, and there are plenty of spiders in East Karana! [I personally combined the silks into swatches and sold them at the Bazaar for 8-10pp until I quit.] I bought a Metal Linked Crown and the leaf glove things [Leaf Scaled Gloves, I think] for 85pp, and they usually sell for 100 each! People are always ofering nice deals; I sold two swords, worth 500 total, for 305 because I needed some quick money. Sure enough, the person I sold them to sold them again!" (Changed "North" to "East" Karana. Whoops.)
- I'm off SB, too. The atmosphere just isn't that fun; people almost always talk as little as possible, while in EQ everything seems so much more friendly. Sure, some people are asses, and some just shut up and grind that exp, but there's always someone to talk to if you make the effort (many thanks to Sleepers, the friendliest guild ever...). What doesn't make sense is that I'm playing Diablo 2 now, and that has even less in the way of chatty people...
Tuesday, 4/8/03 - Me + Shadowbane = One Less EQ Subscriber- I'm playing Shadowbane, so I won't be updating this site much (if at all). Just to let you know, I don't know anything about Platinum farming, except it must be easier than getting loads of silk swatches... Now, all of you go play Shadowbane! Er, I mean... yay EQ?
Thursday, 1/2/03 - Platinum/Bazaar Guide- I have recently been leaving a bazaar character online when I sleep, and am astounded at how well I can sell my junk. Now I am searching for tips on making platinum, but the best I can find is "get spider silks." While this is a good one (10 or 12pp per silk swatch on Tunare), I know there's more out there. If anyone is willing to divulge their tricks to help me create a platinum farming guide, please tell me so I can have a chance of buying my Jade Reaver!
Sunday, 11/24/02 - I'm back!- With the new UI changes going live, I have returned to the world of Everquest. You can expect me to post my favorite UIs, designed with the needs of Rangers in mind. I am in the process of merging a great timer mod, a leaf-themed background and some other customizations, as well as compiling my 'personal' version of Vert's UI. In the meantime, take a look at the EQ Interface webpage.
Wednesday, 5/29/02 - A correction- I corrected some issues with the Thurgadin Gate Potion quest. Thanks to Conos Treepeople from Brell Serilis for pointing the problems out. Casting time is 10 seconds, not "about two." Whoops.

Thursday, 11/8/01 - EXP Calc updated- I added a grouping option to EXP Calc on the Calculators page.
Friday, 11/2/01 - EXP Calc finished- I finished the EXP Calc section of the Calculators page. Now you can find out how many solo kills you would need of a creature to level. I don't know if I will do a group-based section or not; much of my time is being spent on the Shadowbane website. Mmm, Shadowbane... Too bad their info is so vague.
Wednesday, 10/24/01 - Spell list up- I finally finished the Ranger spell list. Later I will add info on where to buy the spells, after I get the JavaScript EXP Calc finished.
Sunday, 10/21/01 - EXP Page removed, Calculator page changed- I removed the EXP page today after making a change to the calculator page. Now, EXP Calc is much more usable and it can calculate how much EXP a creature gives. Now I will work on making it calculate how many of those creatures you will need to kill, taking your present EXP into account and updating the EXP Calc program. Until then, enjoy the new EXP Calc.
Friday, 9/28/01 - Fixed epic quest link (AGAIN)- She did it again! Someone must have forgot to root her quest description. I changed the link on the quest page again. Click here to go to the Ranger epic page.
Saturday, 8/8/01 - Minor change- I changed the haste calc a bit. Now, it thinks that 85 is max haste (but it will let you go higher if you want to anyway). Otherwise, I have nothing new.
Wednesday, 8/8/01 - JavaScript EXP Calc added!- I added a JavaScript EXP Calc to the calculators page.
- Now my website will check for frames on your browser and alert you if you are using them, asking you if you want to leave them or remove them.
Saturday, 8/4/01 - Minor changes- First, thanks to Restruel of the Tunare server for help with my rounding problems. Also, thanks to the person who let me in on the real definition of MoB (mobile). I fixed both of those problems.

Wednesday, 8/1/01 - Updated calculators- I added a little rounding utility I found at JavaScript.com to the calculators, but it only rounds to 1 or more decimal places, and I need it to round to 0 (after all, what good does it do to have 142.6 mana anyway?). Please tell me if you know a way to round to 0 decimal places with JavaScript.
Tuesday, 7/31/01 - Haste calc added- I added a haste calculator to the mana calculator page (and changed the mana calc page's name).

Monday, 7/30/01 - D'oh!- Whoops... I just deleted a month's worth of updates... to the news page. Luckily, nothing else has been deleted.
- I added the Call of Flames and Orc Impaler quests to the quest list (at the request of one of the people who visits this site) and made the gate potion quest a little less annoying by changing the way it gives directions - no more alert boxes, just standard green background and text now.
This is where I am missing about a month of updates. Sorry about that.

Monday 5/14/01 - Armor List added- I recieved a request for more info on Ranger-only weapons and armor. I am beginning with the Armor List that I added today. I will move on to a weapon list as soon as someone tells me what weapons they want to see there. I also recieved a request for info on the Golden Leaf armor quest. The best I can do is to point you to a page Illia wrote for Allakhazam a bit ago: the Velious Armor page. I will point to the specific quests once I add them to the Armor List.
Tuesday 5/1/01 - Epic Quest link fixed- It appears that the Ranger Epic Quest link has been changed. The link in the Quest List has been fixed.
Thursday 4/26/01 - Fixed load time problems- I noticed that I was lagging horribly when I checked my site today. When it did load, I noticed that the "Top 100" link was dead. I removed the script that put it there, and my lag problems were gone.
Friday 4/20/10 - Shadows of Luclin screen shots released- EQ.Castersrealm has a collection of screenshots of the new 3D engine from Shadows of Luclin. Some of them are the same as the ones on Gamespot, but they have descriptions now. Click here to see them. I wonder why there are only pictures of gnomes?
- Allakhazam shut down his pp auctions, but replaced them with his classifieds section. I changed the auction link to the Tunare item list.
- If you noticed, there is a 'review this site' link. Go out there and post good reviews about this page now. Don't make me borrow that gem necklace from Allakhazam!
Thursday 4/19/01 - EQ Expansion: Shadows of Luclin- The next expansion for EQ has been announced. It will include 25 new zones set on Norrath's moon, a new playable race (kerrans), a new class (Beastmaster) and a new 3D engine which should include detailed new character models and textures. The level cap will still be 60 with the new expansion. Gamespot interviewed Jeff Butler of VI about the expansion. Click here to see the interview and the 3 screenshots of the new 3D engine. Click here to see a decent picture of a generic Kerran male. This should give you a general idea of what to expect.
- After looking around a bit more, I found this quote on Gamespot:
The expansion will take players to Luclin, a satellite floating above the world of Norrath. The satellite is divided into a land of light, which is ruled by Discord, and a land of shadow ruled by Order. Each side of Luclin will feature a number of new treasures and unique monsters. - I changed the link properties a bit today.

Tuesday 4/17/01 - Default font set- I checked my news page using a strange computer and noticed it had a really ugly font. I have fixed that problem by setting the default font as Times New Roman.
- I still need info on Ranger damage and skill caps. Please tell me if you know anything.
Thursday 4/12/01 - EXP Calc- Geocities has a problem with my EXP Calc.exe file (*sigh*), so I had to remove the link to that format. There should be no more problems with the files now. If there are, please tell me.

Wednesday 1/17/01 - A note...- If you haven't, take a look at the the Producer's Letter. Click here to see it (this is not the actual letter, but it has the same text as the real one. I gave this link because it allows comments) *this link has been changed and is now the normal letter. The message boards have been flushed, so the link was broken.* .
- This is not really a change to the website. I just want to remind all of you that the EXP Calc program is not entirely accurate. Just remember that 'pure' casters and hybrids (including Bards) recieve EXP at a faster rate than a Warrior, etc.
Wednesday 1/10/01 - Major update to EXP Calc.exe- Fixed how the level input box worked. It is now much more user-friendly. Added a link to download it in the side bar. Data for 50+ has been altered to conform to the idea of every 50+ level being a hell level. Please tell me if I am wrong.
- I have removed the damage info, as it is more of a complication than anything else. I am now looking for info on when Rangers have what damage caps. Sure, I could use a newbie with an Axe of the Iron Back and see when I can hit what, but I don't have any free character slots. Please help.
Wednesday 1/3/01 - EXPCalc.zip- I updated the EXP calc a bit and it is now available in .zip form. The .exe form is still available. *This format has been removed from the site. .zip is the only available format now.*
