High Flying NASA Explorer Schools

In 2004, NASA started a pilot project whereby NASA Explorer Schools were able to submit a proposal for an experiment to fly on NASA's Reduced Gravity Aircraft, the KC-135A. Three schools were selected to fly their experiment and they teamed up with a NASA mentor and an Aerospace Education Services Program (AESP) specialist. I was the NASA mentor from NASA Glenn Research Center who helped the NASA Explorer School Crossroads Elementary with their experiment that they flew on NASA's reduced gravity plane, the KC-135A. The student's experiment was called "Spinning Tops in MicroGravity - STIMG." Click on the links below to find out how we spent our days during this week and a half long event.
