US Stock Market Timing for June 2001.

FIBONACCI dates  (based on INTRA -DAY Data)

Some important market dates in June 2001 for the Dow Jones Industrials Index calculated from selected past market intra day-highs and lows are presented in the table below in the bottom row.

As the Index approaches the Fibonacci windows the market may change its trend. A change may be understood as a turning point after a high or low, a sudden spike or a decline. The dates by themselves do not spell out in advance what will happen. They merely indicate that the previous trend of the Index may change on those appointed dates.

So a market participant may follow the trend immediately prior to those dates and expect an event like a topping out. bottoming etc on those dates.

All dates have a leeway of a day on either side.

Important Points.

 a. The Dow and Nasdaq taken together point to a cluster of dates and periods that is relatively more important. 6th to 9th: 17th to 19th: 24th to 25th.

b. The above study does not say what will happen to the market on the dates given above. Except that those dates are likely to be recorded as eventful days in market history.

To know in advance what may happen on those dates and periods it is very useful to track planetary motions and see if relative orbital positions carry a message.

Planetary study-JUNE 2001.

For a study of planetary trends in June and it’s effect on mundane affairs follow the link to the section “Astrology and World Affairs”.

Both the Dow and the Nasdaq enter June after easing of from the strong run-up during much of May. In April we forecast market strength during the first half of May and a weaker tone after the 16th to the month end. We suggested caution to be exercised approaching the 25th of the month indicated by the Sun-Saturn nexus. Comparing the forecast to the market action we find that the Dow spiked on the 16th and then weakened from the 23rd to month end.

 a. The adverse effect of the current Sun-Saturn proximity will be less after the 3rd.of June. The Fibonacci cluster on the 6th - 9th being close after that date we may expect the period to assist markets regain strength.

Jupiter transits from Taurus to Gemini on the 10th that carries an intermediate term message for the markets. But more of that later.

 b. Retrograde Mars enters Scorpio on the 15th. . That coincides with important Fibonacci dates 17th and 19th. Markets may be impacted adversely.

 c. Sun enters the stellar zone of the Ecliptic point on the 20th. A total solar eclipse will take place on late 21st .Sun reaches perfect conjunction with the ecliptic point on 27th/ 28th. This period too may have a negative impact on the markets.

For the Dow the dates indicated by the above planetary alignment  co-incide with two important Fibonacci dates, 19th and 24th .Two very important market lows in the Yrs. 99 and 2001 form the basis for 19th and two relatively less important highs in Yr.2001 form the basis for 24th respectively.

For the Nasdaq one very important market low in the Yr.98 is the basis for a Fibonaci date count on 21st and two highs in the Yrs. 98 and 2001 form the basis for counts on 24th and 25th respectively.

SUMMARY

All in all taking the planetary trend and the Fibonacci date clusters, one may expect a market decline for both Dow and Nasdaq during the second half of June up-to the month end. Particularly vulnerable dates are likely to be 15th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 25th and 28th.

One strategy would be to reduce long positions after the 13th of June.
