| The circle |
| The circle has several uses: * to protect you from harm and/or interference. * to contain the power raised during magickal working (rituals or spells) until it is released. * some consider it a half-way-house between worlds. The circle may be marked out visibly i.e. with a cord, or by sound, feel or sight(visualised, but not marked out). A mini version - a "bubble" - can be visualised if you ever feel threatened by something. it is i important that you can form this circle and feel comfortable doing so, before attempting any magick. casting the circle The circle may be cast with an athame or finger. visualise a blue light being emmited and cast your circle deosil. (when working on my own, i prefer to sit comfortably and visualise the circle forming around me). Cleanse your circle, sweeping out any fears, problems etc... you may wish to say something such as: |
| "Cleansed be, Safe be Any badness, leave thee." |
| Invoke the elements (as shown in elements) you may wish to consecrate your circle first with salt and water. when invoking the elements work deosil. everyone will have a different way to do this, we start at the North (the altar) and work round, returning to the North to invoke the goddess and god. do whatever feels best to you. Once you have finished your ritual/spell or what ever it was you were doing in your circle (hmmm...that sounds dodgy!) dissolve or open the circle. say farewell and thank the elemental spirits and the goddess and god for being present. Allow your circle to fade. |
