| Maurie is the longest serving President in the Club's history. In 1976/77 Maurie qualified as a Timekeeper and takes great joy in reminding Peter Carney that he failed his exam. Maurie Daly was awarded the honour of Life Membership in 1984 and on Australia Day 1995 (along with his wife Noeline) was presented with a Community Service Award by Randwick City Council. Maurie has recently become a grandfather for the 1st time, thus ensuring the continuation of the Daly name within the Club. Maurie records the results every Saturday morning for the Club and is a Judge at the Club's Annual Carnival. Maurie resat and received his NSW Swimming Association Timekeeping Qualifications in 2002. Maurie stood down as Club President at the end of the 2007/08 season after 33 seasons. |
