Judith joined the Club in 1973, when it swam at Sustrip Pool, having swimming lessons with Chris Gately.

When the club moved to the RSL pool, she went too and also began lessons with Keith Little.  In the following years she was dragged along to the winter season of the club by her older brother Tim, and won the Winter Season Point Score Trophy in 1978 and 1980, aged 10 and 12, as the youngest swimmer and only girl.

From about 1983 Judith began assissting with the Learn to Swim campaign, and became a qualified instructor, a position which she held until 1999.  She was Chief Swim Instructor for the  1998/99 season.

Judith has always assisted at Club events, whether at the AGM or the Carnivla on the door or selling raffle tickets, at the Annual Carnival doing timing or running, helping at the ESSA carnival, and the many BBQ and other Club social functions.

For the Club's centenary dinner in 1996 Judith was a co-ordinator of the archival display and decorations.  From 1997 to 2001 she was the Club's Junior Vice President.

Never a sprinter, but always trying hard, swimming all strokes every week, she has won many Merit awards and Swimathon badges, has competed in all events at the carnivals.

Amazingly, at the tender age of 27, Judith won the Veteran Ladies Trophy.

In May 2000 along with her brother Timmy, she was elected a Life Member.
