Brief History: Kioko was raised with the princess, Chiyo. A servant girl had found Kioko in the doorway of the servanthouse. She delivered the baby to the princess (who had no children, and no husband, and no one to inherit her throne) who took her in as her own child. Chiyo named the baby Machiko, or "fortunate child". But When Chiyo decided to give her kingdom to Machiko when she died, the servants (who would have inherited a large amount) became jealous, and murdered Chiyo, and threw Machiko out on the streets. Machiko met some friends who took care of her. She later found out the servant that had thrown her out was looking to kill her incase she tried to re-take the throne. So, Machiko's friends changed her name to Kioko, and fled the country.
