Where I'm from:   Ok, a bit about me...I am a Minnesotan by blood, and I don't care what Iowans say, I say "bag" right! Let's see, I am Czech, German, English, French, and Scotish. My dad is a retired railroad engineer. My mom is a school counselor who works with EBD kids (which is good for me, because it makes me look like an angel). I have two older brothers. Nathan lives in St.Paul as a computer programmer. Andrew is a lawyer in Washington, DC. He is dating a lovely girl named Catherine.

We had fun as kids, and we get along now, even though I always seem to end up being the resident whipping boy :)
Academic Interests:   Right now I am really interested in Spatial Anthropology (how a culture uses space in its architecture), archaeology, the use of food in society, textiles, and mortuary customs. And, of course, my first love: ceramics. I have always been enthralled by ancient cultures such as the Teutonics, Celts, Egyptians, and Greeks (particularly the Minoans). I have a B.S. in Anthropology with a minor in Classical Studies from Iowa State, and eventually I would like to go to graduate school for artifact conservation. Or historic archaeology. I worked on the Azoria project and would like to return to Crete for more excavations.
Where I am:   So the summers of '01 and '04 I discovered some things about myself that are making my life so wonderful right now. I went through a couple of serious uphevels during college that made things temporarily seem like Hell incarnate and have finally learned to let go. Trust me, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. Most importantly I have accepted who I am and what makes me me. I have come to terms with my beliefs and I am more than pleased to announce that I am finally a SUPER JANE and no longer a plain jane (for those of you who get that reference, anyways). I am still the dork I have always been, incredibly talented at sticking my foot in my mouth (how many memorable times now? 4? 5?), killing conversations, and generally all around making a fool of myself. But Hell, I'm having fun. And in the end, the race is only with myself. This will be the one race I will win :) The devil duckie has been renamed, my life is back in order, and my love life continues on it's Soap Opera path.
I am so unbelievably happy now, you have no idea. The whole world has suddenly decided to turn in my favor. There is a God, and he loves me! hehehe
Where I'm going:   There are some things I would like to do granted I have the time and money to do them at some point in my life. Travel, of course, is an obvious choice. The British Isles, Egypt, Italy, India and Greece (again) top my list. I also want to go back to Erfurt, Germany, and visit my friends there. I would also like to breed roses, learn how to speed skate, own a vineyard and orchard, and train as a chef. Ahh, so much to do, so little time :)
