 Note; Henry Fowler (d. 1687) was an iron monger from London, England, and came to Roxbury, Massachusetts about 1652 and settled in the Providence, RI area about 1654. He was a man of considerable stature, Rep. Gen. Assembly 1671, Juryman, etc. In 1658 Henry Fowler sold land to William Arnold and in 1661, with wife (Rebecca Newell Fowler), he sold 200 acres of upland in Providence. He was living in Providence in 1665, and received a share in the division of lands there that year, although this was about the time he became connected with the Eastchester Patent. During the year 1666 it is on record that Henry Fowler swore allegiance to King Charles II at Providence, with the other inhabitants."
