Hi...!!!

We are home again.

At six o'clock on Tuesday morning, Leticia and I left home for a visit to the southern towns.  This time, the van ran along nicely, thanks to a repaired radiator and a new thermostat.

There is now a very good road all the way to Sabancuy.  The road from Champoton to Isla Aguada that was washed away by the hurricane has been replaced with a modern highway.  From Sabancuy on down to 18 de Marzo, the road is lacking quite a bit of attention.

We went to Sabancuy, where we checked on our house and church property.  There we visited with several families.  If anyone remembers them, among other people,  we visited with three of the Izquierdo girls -  Marina,  Cindy, and Elizabeth.   They all have small families now.  I paid the taxes on the house,  but must go back again to pay taxes on another lot that Mimi has behind the church.

Later in the day, we went to Chekubul, where we visited with some people and checked on our church and house property.  From there, we went up to Oxcabal, where we visited with Lidia Fuentes, and looked at the property where Leticia wanted to start another church.  It has been sold for $800 dollars.  Isabel Fuentes and Dora's girl, Rebecca, went with us.  We sort of wanted to travel about 5 kms. on to Ignacio Gutierrez,  but it was getting late and Rebecca needed to get her homework.  There,   we stopped our travel for the day and went back down to Chekubul where we spent the night in the church.

Along with us went the Corn family, Rebecca Casanova, Karla Ramirez, and of course, Magdalena.

After arising on Wednesday morning, it seemed that everyone was anxious to start home.  Therefore, we drove back down through Sabancuy and visited with Mario and Dorcas Hernandez.  Then back home again.  Along the way, we stopped at the beach for a short while so that the children could put their feet in the water.  It is all very pretty.  We arrived here at about noon.

Tonight, Mama and Mimi have gone to visit with the ladies group out at La Hermosa Church in Bethania.

The Corn family is leaving tomorrow at about noon.

Elizabeth Berry will be arriving on June 14 to stay for 16 days.  I think that she is graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill.  We are looking forward to a good time during her visit.

The visitors from Houston will be here later in the month.  Among other things, they will be conducting Youth Conferences at the Cristo Te Llama Church and here at El Palomar.  Dr. Shelton McBride has promised food from Church's Chicken for all the inhabitants of El Palomar.  There are about 75 of us.

Hope everyone has a nice evening and an even better day tomorrow.

Bye for now....
