At our house, school is a daily challenge.  Even with all our efforts, the poor things do not learn much.  We have four in fifth grades with a 98 average for the year.  Last night, we had planned to take them down to   Church's Chicken, but something interrupted.

When I was in primary school, every year, I was afraid to walk up and get my report card, thinking that I might have failed.   I was such a dummy that I did not know that I was in first place until I got into high school and they began to talk about valedictorians.

This Sunday night, we have a group of 16 coming down from upstate New York.  Some of them come every year.  This time they will be painting the new construction and building doors and closet shelves.  The range from Bethany 15 to Grandma Eaton who is about 80 something.

I think that you might have enjoyed being with us in our worship service this evening out at the China Church

It was my first visit with them for several weeks.  Tonight, since I was not busy at any other place, I just walked out for the Sunday evening service and they asked me to preach.  When I gave an invitation to come to Christ for salvation, there were 17 people in the altar.  There were 3 or 4 smaller ones, but it was mostly teen age and a family of five.   They were crying and praying all over the place.  It was just like our old-time revivals in North Carolina back about 50-60 years ago.

We have announced a baptismal service for February 22nd.  On March 6th, we will be ordaining the first of about 3 or 4 pastors.  Each ordination will be done separately in the pastor's own church.

During recent years, several people have pestered us to retire and return to North Carolina to live.   But, how can I just walk off from such a responsive field as this?  Our work is enjoying the blessings of God on all sides.

Thanks for praying for us.
