CyphND303.zip (Encoding/Decoding program)
Encryption/Decryption
Downloadable:
I have currently completed development of a more complex program for this.  It makes simple character substitution for the character sets of "A - Z, a - z and 0 - 9".  It permits entry of a "key" to change the output of the encoded string for more code-breaking.  Passcode is needed when installed.  E-mail me for the passcode.
The only complexities to it are that additional characters are added into the resulting coded string as well as a replaceable substitution string that is generated statically before compiling.  This can be changed per version (customized for various users).  This is not a commercial product, only a amatuer tinkering into this field.  It's very simple, but still, how many folks are honestly going to be able to break it or invest the effort/time to do so?
Please read "instruct.rtf" before using the program.
DDChargen.zip (player character creation program)
Role-playing Tools
Downloadable:
Anyone ever wish they had a simple, easy to use random-die generator?  I've actually designed it in a pretty easy, plain-jane program for those of you wishing to take advantage of it.  You'll have to e-mail me at [email protected] for a copy.
Space-based empires
One project I'm working on currently will likely not be programmed in Visual Basic, but could be if the success and growth is substantial.  It is a space-based empires game-system, including warfare.  It will include some political positioning and role-playing, but the main focus is on strategy within the game mechanices.  I hope that the developmental ideas listed at Gaming Emporium piques your interest.

Right now, most of this stuff is on the mental drawing board.  I do have a Visual Basic programme written populate a major grid of 9x9x9 with various planet types, temperature ranges and populations when habitable.  The rules system for space combat may be using
SIMTAC2, a system co-created by Jon S. Kowitz and David R. Lott.  Click on SIMTAC2 to access their site.
Also, there is an ongoing project called "
Civiliation X".  It is a spin on the Civilization series originally developed by Sid Meier, but will take the theme through space exploration, colonization and empire-management.  The author's plan is to have it as a MMORPG that is done via web-game server(s).

For those of you needing something to do right now, you may enjoy the MMORPG game called
Starport:  Galactic Empires.  It is a very good, rather simple to learn game that will give you many hours of enjoyment with it's quality 2D graphics and player options.
