| The colored zones represent how many credits the territory earns. Green earns 3 credits, grey earns 2 (mountains), while white and tan have no credit-income vaule (ice and desert regions). Cities built in the grey zones will never advance beyond Stage I. Those established in tan or white will not progress beyond Stage II. Any player controlling Egypt controls the Suez canal. Any player controlling Central America controls the Panama canal. Other player's naval units may not pass through these without passage rights (see Advanced Treaties under the Game Rules section). |
