Rocket (or missile) launchers are an excellent offensive weapon. They provide massive amounts of firepower against cities or enemy units. They are the most expensive land unit at a whopping 13 credits apiece. Usually, this will be the last unit added to any armed force capability.
It may be used for defense, but only destroys enemy units 25% of the time. It is much better for offense, taking out units 75% of the time. It also provides strategic bombardment. It does up to 6 credits-worth of damage. Used in conjunction with other land, naval or air bombardment, it can help decrease the economic and production capabilities of oppenent's cities.
It is not very mobile, being able to move only once. It can move in either the initial or secondary movement phases. |
