There's good news and bad news.

The bad news first. The Rams might  struggle mightily this year.

The good news. DV is coaching and GMing himself in to a long overdue but sure retirement.

I simply can't believe the turn of events over the last few months. The giving away of Hill is just the latest move. Now think about this guys. DV want' a guy whom he wouldn't even suit up for the first 3 games of last year to take the place of a guy who was running wild during those games. Then, after the guy who was tearing it up got hurt, he brought the other guy, who wasn't worthy of suiting up, in to take his place. Now the guy who was tearing it up is healthy.....and gone. The guy who couldn't find a uniform or a hole is his replacement.

The crazy thing about it is, it's on purpose! Can't anybody see? It's not about getting a 5th and 7th round pick for the guy because we got him for nothing. It's about the fact that Hill is far more valuable than that to the Rams. Maybe not to other teams, but to the RAMS! If Faulk goes down, we are left with a guy who couldn't run through the St Louis Arch last year.

I must say that I was very excited about our prospects for surpising this year. That is until about 3 or 4 weeks ago. When the Rams first let Eric Kramer and Jamie Martin get by them without a sniff, I knew it was a mistake. When they planned on playing Green for a full half or more on plastic against the Chargers D, I knew it was a mistake. When the rumors of a Hill trade surfaced, I knew it was a mistake.

Think about this. The Rams could have started with this depth: QB depth of Green and Kramer. RB depth of Faulk and Hill. FB depth of Holcombe and Harris. WR depth of Bruce, Hakim and Holt. If the worst happened, Green, Bruce and Faulk might be lost for part or all of the season. If all three happened we still could have fielded Kramer, Hill, Holt, Hakim, Prohel and Holcombe. Superbowl contender? Not. Competitive? yes. Now, if the worst happens, one of which already has, we field a team of Warner, Holcomb, Harris, Holt, Hakim and Prohel. Yikes! You make the call. A backfield of Hill and Holcomb or, a backfield of Holcomb and Harris? It's not even close.

Now, who here thinks that both Faulk and Bruce will make it through the whole season without missing a game? Didn't they learn anything on Saturday? Please Dick, just quit now and get it over with. I said it before when they didn't get or keep an experienced backup for Green and now, lucky me, I get to say it again. They will likely live to regret this moronic move. Dick will soon be paying for these blunders with his job. I always like to end by summarizing the good news part.
