I am a Colts fan, but I heard about the injury to Trent Green and Kurt Warner's promotion to starting QB. I know that it's tough to lose a player with as much promise and talent as Green, but he'll be back.

I'm a season ticket holder with the San Jose SaberCats Arena Football team, and I had to sit through two years of Kurt Warner tearing us apart. I was so glad when Rams signed him so we wouldn't have to deal with him any more. After watching Warner for a while I can think of three aspects of his game that are worth noting:

1) Overall physical strength and elusiveness---I have video footage of Warner being wrapped up by a 290 lb. lineman, and he wrestles his way out. He was nearly impossible to sack, and he took a horrendous beating in one game but never came out. I don't ever recall him missing a game due to injury.

2) Arm strength and off-balance passing ---I noticed that one poster here was hoping for a Brett-Favre-type gunslinger in Warner although he's not quite at that caliber. However, Warner's strength in this area is actually throwing off balance. I've seen him sling a spiral 50 yards off his back foot while falling backwards. He is known for throwing off his back foot, something the Rams will eliminate from his game. It was totally deceptive in the Arena League, because you never knew when he was going to throw.

3) Quick thinking---Warner always seemed to find someone to get the ball to. I consistently pulled my hair out watching him pick apart what I thought was a great defense, even when it seemed like we had him cornered. He almost seemed to purposely fool the defense into thinking it had an easy sack, then he would torch one of the DBs at the last second with a perfectly thrown ball.

This season is definitely not over, and the combination of Warner and Faulk (we miss ya Marshall!) could be quite deadly. I wish you guys the best this season. Keep those heads up!
