Went to Rams park to watch practice today. Unfortunately most of the good stuff, offense against defense, was on the field the furthest away from the hill where everyone stood. When I first arrived, the punters, Tuten and Williams, were practicing on the field nearest us. Williams boomed some nice punts that had good hang time but he was very inconsistent. He shanked a couple also. Tuten didn't have as many impressive punts as Williams, but he was very consistent,  and I don't recall him shanking any. Ganz would tell them when they did well, but from what I've read about him I expected him to be a lot more vocal.

The receivers then came to the field closest to us. I would hate to be the one that decides which WR's get cut! We have a lot of WRs that looked very good. Blevins is one to keep an eye on. Knox and Small looked good at times also. Cody had an OK day but nothing exceptional. Horne dropped a lot of balls in the drills. Torry Holt looked very good in the drills also but he is a notch below IKE when it comes to running the patterns. Holt made an impressive catch, with Dre Bly on him like glue. Hakim and (suprisingly to me) Proehl looked good also.

But NO WR we have is even comparable to Isaac Bruce. He is poetry in motion. He glides effortlessly through the drills. His cuts are on a dime, his patterns sharp and crisp. I didn't recall IKE dropping any passes in the drills. Everyone else dropped at least a couple.

As has been reported before, Al Saunders is a very  hands on coach. He is out there telling them what they need to do and praising them when they do something good. Knox made an impressive catch in the drills on a slant that would've been a TD and Saunders yelled, "Touch Down good job Kevin".

In the passing drills Green started off without much zip on the ball. After a couple of tosses he started zipping it in there with pinppoint accuracy. Warner looked sharp. Didn't see Germaine.

This is what I did get from watching the other field 150 yds away (offense vs. defense) Horne made a nice catch after getting behind his defender--I think it was Coady??. Faulk caught a lot of short passes in the flat, but the defense was right there after the catch.

This made my day! The last play of practice, Green rolls to his left, Torry Holt gets behind three defenders right in front of him, he leaps up and is in for the touchdown.
