Twas' a wild weekend for my wife and I in eastern Ohio/western Pennsylvania . . . and the day in Canton was right in character with it.

Was sure good to see Mack and Dickerson inducted . . . and great to hear them (as well as Slater and Kenny Iman) mention a lot of deserving names from the proud history of Ram linemen--names that *very* few of the folks there Saturday had a clue about.

Nice mentions of the late, great Joe Scibelli and Charlie Cowan. Iman mentioned Joe Carollo about half a dozen times. Herc Harrah. Irv Pankey. Billy Bain. Rich Saul. Bubba France. John Williams. It has been a long, long time since any part of Rams history has been the subject of a speech from the steps of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Afterward, was in the Hall of Fame gift shop and literally ran headlong into Gary Jeter (who was there with Lawrence Taylor's contingent of people). I was kind of shocked . . . but stopped him for a moment to shake his hand. He was very gracious, and we moved on. I only realized later that I never even told him how I knew him . . . from his days as a Ram. Was also stunned at Jeter's size - I go 6-foot-4 and 245. Jeter, though, had a frame that you could build a high rise on. He had to be at least 6-foot-6 and, although he looked to be in great shape, was probably 275.

Also ran into Tony Dorsett and Dexter Manley.

Then there was the trip from Canton to Pittsburgh on Highway 30 (saw the Bucs beat the Cards Saturday night, 3-1) . . . through southeastern Ohio, northwest West Virgina and southwest Pennsylvania. Ummmm . . . niiiiiiiice!
