Personal like it was written for I
Hurt and laughter brought tears to my eyes
Allow for 360°, love in all its forms
Separation, infidelity… that cause love harm
Endures till you’re gray, night and day
Surpass love you say, when you turn gray…

PHASES:These poems read like a personal love letter from a special woman to the right man. Joy and sorrow combine old and new spiritual values of a child, then a young lady, then a woman, who experiences the folds of love’s petals—some harsh, some soft. Yet she grows and learns. “Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself*,” and when you love first yourself, you learn to love others. Enough cannot be said. A truly beautiful collection of poetry for any library…”

FROM PHASES

Chimera
I close my eyes to sleep
I open them when I wake
Yet what I see remains
Visions of you in my head
It’s as if you’re here with me
An integral part of my life
I dream and you’re there
Every day and every night

Unshakable are the illusions
That hold my reality hostage
They take control of my mind
Creating pictures are not real
I see you and I together happy
Our lives intertwined as one
Sharing our innermost secrets
You are mine and I am yours

It’s a dream that continues
Every day and every night
I close my eyes; I open them
Yet the visions carry on
They play over and over
The scenes never change
You and I are intertwined
Every day and every night

My mind could not accept
That I could not have you
It created countless illusions
To live what can’t be true
We lived happily every after
You and I inside my world
Illusions can be so powerful
If you let them take control

Beguiled
Face of an angel
Smile seemed sincere
Eyes clear as crystal
To many you were dear
They saw a Good Samaritan-
One who could do no wrong
For the image you portrayed
Many hearts you won

Mine was one of them
You were my delight
I saw you like no other
Thought you were Mr. Right
Didn’t see the other side of you
Though the rumors gave a clue
Because of the image you portrayed
I was enamored by you

Then they exposed you
All those women you had
Said you were no angel
Said you were downright bad
You wined and dined, then left
You played around in bed
Then you quickly ran away from them
After filling up their head

This you I never saw
Neither did mom nor dad
Their son was such an angel
The rumors made them mad
Me, I paid them no attention
Because that you I did not see
You gave me all a woman could want
The rumors just couldn’t be

A gentleman you were
You did everything right
How could anything be wrong?
You slept with me each night
Those women had to be lying
What they said could not be true
You were a perfect gentleman
Loving and responsible too

Phone calls exposed it
Different ones on the line
They confronted me about you
You were gaming the whole time
I knew you would not confess
So I had to find out on my own
I had to know who were these women
Calling on the phone

The real truth stung me
Revealed behind the mask
You were no Good Samaritan
Beguiling women was your task
A two-sided, two-faced liar
You could no longer hide from me
Though you refused to confess your deeds
Clearly, now I see
