Much like a track & field meet scores first through sixth places; 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 point, for respective finishes, we decided to do much the same. Besides, it is a track meet of sorts, so we might as well. There are 6 categories for a total possible score of 60. The categories are; Girls Team, Boys Team, Girls Individual, Boys Individual, Girls Time Proximity and Boys Time Proximity. So, for example, if your Individual/Team placed first you were awarded 10 points, a second place finish got you 8 points, etc....As far as Time Proximity goes, it's very similar with +/-5 seconds being 10, +/-10 is 8, +/-15 is 6, +/-20 is 4, +/-25 is 2, +/-30 is 1.
In the event of a tie, scoring will then (and only then) be decided by which participant came closer with regard to the winning teams score. This year, along with your Team, Individual & Time picks, we will ask that you submit what you believe to be the winning teams scores. The difference between what the winning teams actually score and what you thought they'd score will then be matched against your opponents guess to break the tie. Again: ONLY if you tie another will your team score be used in scoring--otherwise, it is useless, we appologize if you pin-point the score, you are not awarded any points for it, unless you tie someone.
