The Fed Pool is a contest among friends, a little friendly competition. Every year before the NYS Federation Cross-Country Championship meet members pick thier favorite's for both individual and team boys and girls champions. The winner takes home the official "Ramjet Runner" FED POOL sweatshirt and earns a home in the prestigous "Fed Pool Hall of Fame". Best of all, the "Ramjet Runner Fed Pool Champion" wins bragging rights, isn't that enough?
The competition started at the 1996 Fed meet where Coach Bob Oates suggested that since members Mike Poole and Andy Rickert weren't running in the meet, they should make things interesting and put money (pennies) on it to determine who would be the best at predicting the outcome. As it would turn out, Mr. Mike Poole would take home the pot, thus spawned this fierce competition.
