What Is RROL?

A Brief History

THE RAMJET RUNNER Association was started in the fall of 1997, although not under that official name. Several Guilderland '97 alumni came together and pledged to keep in contact through means of e-mail during the college years. Member Andrew Rickert published nearly 12 issues of the original "Ramjet Runner" e-mail newsletter's during that first semester. Unfortunately, the newsletter died out due to a lack of time to publicate the "beast of a read".

Ramjet, as Rickert is affectionately called, knew he had to do something to keep the cloesly tied Guilderland Boyz together so he established this web site in the winter of 1998. THE RAMJET RUNNER ONLINE pledges to maintain up-to-date news and info of members running and life experiences. Although visitors are welcome, this web site continues to be non-advertised and exclusive to Ramjet's close friends.

On December 3rd, 1998 this website became a netword, meaning members could type "ramjet runner" in as a keyword on netword.com, making it easier to reach the site.

During the summer of 2000 Ramjet made significant improvements to the website incorporating photos, backgrounds and the new feature, Mike Pooles "Ears What Really Happened". Later that year the RROL celebrated it's public relaunching with the largest Fed Pool ever, boasting a field of 22 participants!

Unfortunately, following graduation, this website was no longer updated for obvious reasons. However, the Ramjet Runners continue to stay in touch and activity picks up every year for the Annual Fed Pool.
