This day, some 55 years ago, every Indian reaped the fruits of FREE INDIA from the British colonisation, for which the seeding was done way back in 1857. This is the most important day for all the Indians living around this world. I have great pleasure in wishing all Indians a

“VERY HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY”

Every year on this day we recall the absolute sacrifices, dedicated and focused efforts made by our GREAT LEADERS which resulted into a FREE INDIA. On every New Year people around the world take vows for both personal and social developments, I believe we Indians are capable of going that extra mile to take an additional vow on our INDEPENDENCE DAY for a developed India and to make our Beloved Country an Economic Super Power.

“LITTLE DROPS OF WATER MAKE A MIGHTY OCEAN”

We Indians will strive hard and stay put, (whereever we are) to do our best, to add strength to achieve our country’s visions set by our leaders and our fellow citizens.

I believe everyone would have done or would do so the following after pouring over this message:

  1. Let us stay silent for a minute to pay our respects and homage to all our fore-fathers and leaders who were responsible for a FREE INDIA.

  1. Now as a patriotic Indian it’s our duty to salute our National Flag and sing our National Anthem.

"Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we will redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance... We end today a period of ill fortune, and India discovers herself again."

This is a part of the speech made by Jawaharlal Nehru, as India's first Prime Minister, to the Constituent Assembly, in New Delhi, on the eve of India's Independence -- August 14, 1947.

As we enter the 56th year of Indian Independence, it would be apt to stop for a moment to reflect on Jawaharlal Nehru's words spoken on the eve of India's Independence, "The achievement we celebrate today is but a step, an opening of opportunity, to the greater triumphs and achievements that await us. Are we brave enough and wise enough to grasp this opportunity and accept the challenge of the future?"
