The Bleeding Heart Tetra is a very active fish, like most Tetras.  They need a good amount of swimming space since they are very active and prefer to be in a group of at least 5 or more and make that sure there is some plants for them to hide in or eat.  The Bleeding Heart Tetra also prefers to be in a well-lit area so make sure there is a good light source.
The females are a little larger than the males and the males have longer dorsal fin.
