It's not a fiction book, it's a refernce book. It has a lot of facts on the breeds, markings, and colors. It also talks about briddles, bits, and even carriages. This book has every breed know to man and is just fun to look at. I love finding out different facts about my favorite breeds. Horses are amazing creatures and this book helps you learn more about them. Look in this book to find things you have never heard of gates, posting, and paces. I encourage you to get this book today at your local bookstore or library.

One book that I read not too long ago that was really cute was Dream Horse. It's a bout a girl who finally got her first horse and was training it to jump. Meanwhile, she fell in love with the horse's previous owner. Iwould reccomend it to everyone.

Some really good books are in the Heartland Series. It's about a girl who saw a trapped stallion and ran to her mom for help. It's a really bad night to be out, a tree fell, and her mom died. The series is about how she is living with her family on a farm where they care for horses who have emotional problems or who are afraid of things. And how day by day she is learning to deal with the past.

I really liked the book Gib and the Gray Ghost. it's the sequel to the book Gib Rides Home by Zilpha Keatly Snyder. It's about an orphan named Gib who finally found a good family. One cold winter night Gib goes to do the chores and meets Ghost, a scared skinny gray stallion. At first Ghost is scared of people. Gib earns his trust and begins to ride him. Ghost's owner comes to get him back and is surprised to see Gib riding "the horse who souldn't be ridden" by any of his stablehands or horse trainers. I'm not going to tell you the ending. You'll just have to read it for your self!
My all time fav. This is an awesome book and I hope you all read it. It's a bout a horse who has an owner who gets sick and he has to move. He's bought at a horse fair by a taxi driver and another and is mistreated a lot. But finally he ends up with the one person he loves and trusts. Now go read it to find out the whole story.
The winnie series is a very good series. I'm only half way done with the first one and I'm hooked on it. Basically it's about a girl who moves alot and her little sis who hates it. She's walking home when she hears horses stampeding, she throws her sis in a ditch, and stops them. She sees this amazing whit arabian. She knows it's the horse she wants. Will she get it? Find out in 1)Wild thing.
This book has everything you could ever want to know about any breed. It tells you what breeds were crossed in the original bloodlines to get that breed. And it also tells what they were origanly bred for. A great book for a horselover who is interested in how we got so many breeds.
