SKIPA FLASH
1997 MARE
photo taken in late 02 one evening just before dark.
Skippy in her summer coat....she is a golden color in the spring thru early winter, then darkens to a chestnut for the winter and come spring....back to a palomino shade.
This is Skipa Flash, an own daughter of Dr Forego, a chestnut leopard stallion by Forego.  She is out of Star Flasher, an own daughter of Rock Star and out of a mare that is Absarokee Sunset breeding.  She is broke to ride (barely started) and we have been just waiting on her foal.  The first year we bred her, she aborted at 7 months...then last year she came early by two weeks and we were not expecting her to go early, colt was huge and she may have had some difficulty getting him out cause he wasn't breathing when we found them.  The colt was a blanket over the hips, chestnut of course.  She is due again to Awesome Reward for an April 2005 baby. And she foaled in early May, a pretty chestnut with roaning over the hips stud colt...lived 2 days and died..  Beginning to think she doesn't plan on reproducing herself!  In 06 she produced a gorgeous near leapard filly by Oz.

07, again a big colt but stillborn, was 2 wks early and a huge colt. May have been fescue toxicity according to the vet.  She's in foal for an 08 foal...hopefully everything goes well this time!

She stands 15.2 hands and is a sweet mare.  Will post pictures of her foals as they hit the ground on this page.
