Long ago people filled these borough's streets Many from other countries though passing through one gate From freezing air altitudes to rush-hour street heats Many continue shifting themselves to at last permeate. Through uncountable halls and hundreds of exiting byways Nighttime mocks the sky, horizons vie to stay apart... Carriages and glass windows plead for much longer days; Representatives from all nations over-pack this Ark This proud history had happened a handful of decades ago Streets, flats, trees, and families tell us incredible stories About how much was different from what we presently know Skyrocketing towers display pride via pains and glories To this day all can reflect, rhapsodize, and note It began centuries ago -- millions were dozens coming by boat |
