POETRY

The Last Laugh
by Michael Tartàglia, © 2000
Shinto taken the samurai
Heated winds killed the fire
Stripped ciff side intaglios
Caught by foreign telescopes
Snowflakes sift through silky screens
To selfish selves with skin so clean
Nuclear mid-winters miff
Natives cut by shrubberies
Sesquipedalian citites
Failing physiography
But winning magnificently
She's a silent anonymous trickster
So what do we need in her?
