Though he had been selected to HAL through campus recruitment he was interested in higher studies. He also wrote GATE and secured first rank in his category with a score of 99.86 percentile. He joined University of Minnesota for his MS and later transfered it to Georgia Tech, Atlanta. He finished his MS and Phd with an outstanding student award. He finished his Phd in 1994 and joined GTech itself as a post doctrol fellow. In 1995, he joined IIT Madras as a lecturer in the department of Aerospace Engineering. He was promoted as Assistant Professor in 1996. He is the principal co-ordinator for many research and consulation projects with a research funding of over a crore of rupees.
He is the recepient of the prestigous Von Humboldt fellowship and he
is currently in Deutsches Zentrum für
Luft und Raumfahrt (DLR) Göttingen, Germany. He has several international
journal and conference papers in the fields of Acoutics and Fluid Mechanics.
