1.                INTRODUCTION                                                                                      9

Reactive power control in electrical power Transmission lines (2.1) - Uncompensated transmission line ( 2.2 ) - series compensation (2.3) - basic concepts of static VAR compensator (SVC) (3.4, 3.6, 3.7, 3.8, 3.9) - Thyristor switched series capacitor (TCSC) (7.1, 7.2) - Unified power flow controller (UPFC) (8.2.1 - R3).

2.             STATIC VAR COMPENSATOR (SVC) AND APPLICATIONS      9
