He is an atheist who does not
believe in himself. The old religions said that he was an atheist who did
not believe in God.The new religion says that he is an atheist who does
not believe in himself.
Shradha must enter into you...Shradha is what I want...Faith, faith, faith in ourselves, faith, faith in God This is the secret of greatness ... Have faith in yourself and stand upon that faith and be strong. Doing good to others out of compassion is good but seva(service) of all beings in the spirit of the Lord is better. Any expansion is life, all contraction is death. All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is herefore the only law of life. |
Arise! Awake!and stop
not till the goal is reached.
This is the gist of all worship -- to be pure and to do good to others. He who sees Siva in the poor, in the weak, and in the diseased, really worships Siva, and if he sees Siva only in the image, his worship is but preliminary. He who has served and helped one poor man seeing Siva in him, without thinking of his cast, creed, or race, or anything, with him Siva is more pleased than with the man who sees Him only in temples. Three things are necessary to make every person great,
every nation great:
|
|
Many are the names of God and
infinite forms through which he may be approached. The Reality is one and
the same; the difference is in the name and forms. Some address the Reality
as Allah, some as God, some as Brahman, some as Kali others by names as
Rama, Jesus, Durga, Hari. God is formless and God is possessed of form
too. And he is also that which transcends both form and formless.
Through selfless work, love of God grows in the heart. Then, through His grace, one realizes Him in course of time. God can be seen. One can talk to Him as I am talking to you. |
If a householder gives in charity in a spirit of detachment, he is really doing good to himself and not to others. It is God alone that he serves -- God, who dwells in all beings... If a man thus serves God through all beings..., if he doesn't seek name and fame, or heaven after death; if he doesn't seek any return from those he serves; if he can carry on his work of service in this spirit -- then he performs truly selfless work, woork without attachment. Through such selfless work he does good to himself. This is called karmayoga. This too is a way to realize God. | |
I tell you one thing
my child -- if you want peace, do not find fault with others. Rather, see
your own faults. Learn to make the world your own. No one is a stranger,
my child; the whole world is your own.
My child, austerities or worship, practise all these things right now. Will these things be possible later on? Whatever you want to achieve, achieve it now, this is the right time. Always discriminate.Try to realize that the outside object which is attracting your mind is impermanent, and turn your attention to God. God alone is true. Everything else is false...The goal of life is to realize God. |
He who has a pure mind sees everything
pure.
Difficulties come. But they do not last for ever. You will see that they pass away like water under a bridge. The rich should serve God and His devotees with money, and the poor should worship God by repeating His name. To make mistakes is man's very nature; but few of those who criticize know how to correct them. I can never refuse anyone who addresses me as Mother. |
