| This isn't a normal fan site, and I'm in no way bandwagoning with everyone else...why I'm explaining myself to you I don't know. This is my page, and if you don't like the band, then well, nobody's perfect. I just want to pay homage to one of the greatest bands of all time. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I'd have to thank my sister for showing me this wonderful band. I liked them before Aug. 12 1998, but not really all that much. This all changed when I saw them preform at the Horde Fest in Cleveland, at the Blossom. There was a certain electricity in the air that night, funny thing is that it was storming, in fact, it was one of the worst storms in my life [complete with tornadoes and everything.] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| In fact this was the first concert I had ever been to. First Ben Harper came on stage, then Bare Naked Ladies. By now I was pretty impressed. The day was sunny, warm, perfect, then as soon as the Bare Naked Ladies left the stage, storm clouds could be seen on the horizon. The Pumpkins were preforming in less than an hour. It was pouring, lighting, and yet the audience remained in the now muddy lawn, waiting for the Pumpkins to come on. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. |

| All day the people in the pavilion had been way more into the music than the 10,000 people that were on the lawn. But now, we were all enjoying the music in unison, except the people out side were totally wrapped in the sound. Everyone was standing, soaking, drenched...jumping, cheering, smiling. The effect of that night I'd never forget. It was like love at first sight. I was in love with the Smashing Pumpkins. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Skip ahead to Spring of 2000...I saw the Smashing Pumpkins in a sell-out venue for 25,000+ people. Dayton Ohio. It was again here, that I saw the band I was origionally in love with...except it was different, there were only 2 of the origional band members...D'arcy was gone, and Melissa in her place. It just wasn't the same, but it was the Smashing Pumpkins and this was good enough for me. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
