Introduction: 1. Who: The tournament is open to all DBAOL members.
2. What a 32 player DBAOL tournament. The players will compete with a total of 4 DBA Armies. The Armies will represent each DBA Book. (I, II, III, IV.) The tournament will utilize a �World Cup� format. The players will be seeded based on their overall DBAOL winning percentage. The tournament will consist of two rounds. The first round consist of 8 groups of four players with the top two players from each group advancing to Round 2. Round 2 will consist of four parts, the sweet 16 single elimination round, the quarter finals single elimination round, the semi-final round where the winners will advance to the championship game, while the losers will play the consolation 3rd place game.
3. When: a week after the tournament sign-up is announced or as soon as there are 32 players. If after a week there are not 32 players the tournament round 1 format will adjust as required ( 3 player groups etc.)
4. Where: The sign-up sheet will be a new topic on the DBAOL Tournament/Announcements Group. The results of tournament games will be posted on the DBAOL Game reports Group. Tournament standings, results, statistics, and rules will be posted on the tournament website that I am currently building using GeoCites.
5. Why: The tournament is being set up because I think it will be fun.
6. How: Sign up. Each player will announce their participation in this tournament by posting a reply to the Tournament sign-up post. Each player will identify their Fanaticus name, their DBAOL name (especially if it is different.) and their selection of tournament Armies in the Bk, Army number, Army title format. Once a declaration has been declared players will not be allowed to change armies. Example

Round 1: The players will be seeded by their overall wining percentage. The top 8 players will be seeded in as #1 in each of the groups. The next 8 will be seeded as a #2 in each of the groups. The next 8 will be seeded as #3 in each of the groups. The final 8 will be seeded as #4 in each of the groups. The seeding of the groups will be accomplished through a random lottery draw. The draw will be conducted by a impartial party (my 4 year old son.) Once the groups have been established. The players in each group will play a Book match against each of the group members. The books to be used for each match will be predetermined before the draw. Once the players are seeded in the groups the armies they chose to fight each match will be predetermined by the identified Book. Round 1 will use only Books I-III. 3 pts will be awarded the winner. 0 pts to the loser. The top two players from each group will advance to Round 2.
Round 2 (Knockout Round): The sweet 16 round. will be played using the players Bk IV armies. The pairing will be predetermined with one group winner matched against a group runner-up. The winner advances the loser is eliminated. The quarter finals will consist of four matches each match will be a Book Match I, II, III, IV respectively. The Book for each match will be predetermined randomly. The semi finals will be a randomly determined Bk match. The winners will advance to the finals. The losers will play the consolation game.
The consolation game and final will be a randomly determined Bk match.
Player Pool: See the below table for the players initial ranking used to determine the qualifcation round match-ups.
Tournament Fixtures/Scoring: Qualification round. The team with the best winning percentage after two games will be declared the winner. If there needs to be a third match. The Low Scorer player will be determined by Element Differential. Group Rounds. A Low Scorer (Home) win = 2pts. An Attacker (Away) win = 3pts. The winner will be determined by the highest overall point score. In the event of ties. The tie breakers are as follows.
1. Head to Head (point total.)
2. Element Differential.
3. Total Elements Killed.
4. Total General Elements Killed.
5. Total Killed Elements (the player with the least wins).
