I was born and raised in Mexico for the most part of my life. It is a beautiful country full of traditions and friendly people. I grew up in a small town called Matamoros. Some people might say that there is not much to do in such a small place, but I had lots of fun and I keep in my mind unforgettable times.

At the age of 16, I moved to Monterrey to go to college. I lived in this great city for 5 years, and it was during this time when I met some of my best friends. I got my undergrad degree in Industrial Physics Engineering at Monterrey Tech in May 2002. The Fall 2001 and Spring 2002 classes became one united group and we still keep in touch, although most of us went away to different parts of the world to get graduate education. This is how I arrived to Houston about three years ago.

Right now, I am a PhD student in the Physics Department at the University of Houston. I began this new journey in August 2004 after completing a Master’s degree in Materials Engineering also at UH. My interests are focused on Condensed Matter Physics, and I am looking to perform research in the nano-physics field.
