Huntington Disease (HD) is a cruel, hereditary brain disorder with devastating effects on both mind and body. Over its lengthy course, HD leads to incapacitation and death. It touches the lives of one in every thousand Canadians, and is, at present, incurable. Every child of a person with HD has a 50% risk of inheriting the disease. |
|
The Huntington Society of Canada, a registered charity, is a national netwrokk of volunteers and professionals working togther to find new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for HD; and to improve the qulaity of life of individuals with HD and their families. |

One of our leading researchers commented recently, "We may be able to stop HD dead in its tracks" - imagine! Your support will also ensure that we maintain and enhance our critical individual and family services programme - a network of professionally staffed Resouurce Centres and socail workers providing crisis intervention, counselling, day activity programmes, HD summer camps, and much more. |
