Slayers Try
Type: Fantasy / Adventure / Comedy
Animation: 4/5
Dubbing: 3/5
Plot: 3/5
Violence: Harsh
Nudity: None
Personal Comment: Once again I have started with the last series. Their are three complet Slayers series and Slayers Try is the third series, also slayers have a few full length movies out. It's really a cute series and I love the characters. The one thing that really pissed me off in this series was all the filler episodes. I know many anime series have episodes that don't realate to the overall series plot but the filler episodes in the Slayers Try series were numerious and particularly annoying. I would actually reccomend you watch this series subtitled. I switched to the dubbed version a few tapes into the series (this was before the DVD revolution) and the comedy just wasn't the same in the dubbed version.

His and Her Circumstances
Type: Romance / Comedy
Animation: 1/5
Dubbing: 4/5
Plot: 4/5
Violence: Mild
Nudity: None
Personal Comment: Due to my Shojo Manga addiction (and the fact that the last Anime movie I reviewed was  X and I found it pretty depressing) I decides to try reviewing some good old girl fluff. The only resaon you would ever watch this series is if you are looking cute little romantic show with a touch of humor. If you have a girlfriend who is an anime fan this would be the show to pull of the shelf for a quiet evening togeather and you  you'll get extra points for watching a chick flick with her. The down side to the series is that the animation is *blah* the artist had no concern for background art at all, so most of the time all you get in the background is sketch people or pretty pastel colors. My advice is read the Manga or buy the DVD don't bother with both. The anime is basicly a narrated version of the comic book with some animation thrown in. Any way you get six episodes per disk so it's not the worst buy their is around. Like I said very good "movie for a date" and the plot is actually intresting if your willing to wait around for the actual plot to surface in all the pointless parts of the show but the animation is crap and there is almost no action and to tell the turth it didn't really hold my intrest at least with X I didn't know what was going on and everything was happening so fast I had to pay attention when you realize how uncomfortanble your chair is you know the show isn't woth sitting through.
Spirited Away
Type: Fantasy / Adventure / Romance?
Animation: 5/5
Dubbing: 4/5
Plot: 5/5
Violence: Mild
Nudity: I am not sure if the Baby's butt counts (That was one big baby)
Personal Comment: Loved it, Loved it, Loved it, I was unique funny, serious, happy, sad,  and a wonderful work of art. Note to the newbies. It is weird, I don't know about Japanese standards but by Western standards it is weird. If you do not want a show with strangness, originality, or you don't like anime to begin with, then don't go to the theater watch spirited away and then bad mouth it. If you go to the theater and this is you first experience with Japanese animation, remember you are going to watch JAPANESE animation, do not pick on the show because it is "weird" it's just a different cultural experience. I would recommend this to anyone even if they have never watched an anime show before. Spirited away is visualy stunning when my friend and I went to see it we both enjoyed the show and we think that the Dragon Haku was amazing. One last comment the part where Ubaba says "Don't get fresh with me." was that translated right? I really think it should have been "Don't get smart with me" My friend and I both thought that that line was a little out of place. We didn't get Noface what was up with him anyway?
