The Week of October 29

Jack and Alison ask the Hartmans for a DNA sample from Hope so that they can be sure if Jamal is truly her biological father. They want to help complete her medical history. Alison tells them that her suspicions were arroused when she discovered that it was virtually 9 months to the day that Valerie and Jamal slept together from Hope's birthday. Dr. Hartman tells them that they were told that Hope was premature, so its impossible that its Jamal's baby.

Rafe asks for guidence from the powers above, saying that he doesn't understand how the lives could be falling apart if Caleb doesn't have his full powers, someone must be helping him. Livvie arrives and in conversation, she admits that she can't remember anything between waking up in Jack's bed to that moment. She's afraid that if she tells anyone they will think she's crazy like her mother, but Rafe encourages her to unlock what is hidden within. Caleb appears and says that she will remember when he wants her to remember and no sooner. Entranced, Livvie recites that Caleb is her true love. Rafe tries to break her trance by reminding her of the love that she shares with Jack. She breaks out for a moment and begs to remember.

Alison hugs Jamal and he asks her why she's jumping in his arms like that. Ali tells him its because she loves him and Valerie turns away as she witnesses them kissing.

Caleb warns Rafe that he is playing a dangerous game and he can show him how powerful he really is. Livvie begs him to help her, but Rafe tells her that she can help herself if she looks within herself. Caleb controls her and reminds her that she gave him life and there is no greater love than that. She turns toward Caleb, and Rafe pulls her away, telling her that they will fight them together. Just as he's about to tell her what is really happening, he looks upward and vanishes. Livvie asks what happened to Rafe, and Caleb smiles and says that Rafe broke the rules. He entrances her again and says that she will never remember any of it.

Up in Heaven, Rafe demands to know why he was pulled- he was getting through to Livvie. Ed doesn't buy it though. He believes that Rafe was close to telling Livvie, but Rafe denies it. He is upset because at first Caleb was sweatin' it, but now he's thinking that no one can stop him. Ed angrily says that it isn't about Rafe & Caleb, its about helping the people fight for themselves and giving them strength. He gives Rafe a pep talk and tells him that giving Caleb a conscious isn't going to help them.

Rafe says that its not that easy, every time Lucy or one of their friends comes close, Caleb comes in and blows them apart. He is worried that they are further apart than they ever were before. He's stuck. Ed tells him to give them hope and that is something they can fight with. He should use what he used with Livvie- reminding her that she still has the love of her family and friends. THEY (PC residents) have to save lives, not Rafe.

Rafe feels like he's failed, but Ed tells him he hasn't. He wants to bend the rules, but Ed warns him that if he had told Livvie the following would have happened. What preceeds is a re-inactment of the scene between Rafe and Livvie. Instead Rafe tells Livvie that Caleb gains his strength from her, she is the one destroying the lives of PC residents. Livvie is freaking out and screaming, she jumps over the bridge committing suicide. Rafe realizes that he would have been responsible for killing Livvie. He smartens up and says he will have faith and give people courage and people will ultimately do the right thing. Ed says that Rafe is ready to go back, and hopes that he's not too late.
