Dario Rodriguez

First thing you'll probably say is, Who the f*** is/was Dario Rodriguez. Well if I told you what he was well known for in the World Cup, it would easily give away the person I am comparing him too. I was tasteful enough to avoid comparing him to a German, as his so-called "surrogate" father would kill me, so I thought Rodriguez was the next ideal choice. Rodriguez was supposedly playing in defence for the twice-World Cup Uruguay, but during their group stage game, he was located reasonably forward for a corner to be taken by starman Recoba. Commentators remember that after the corner kick had been taken, the ball did not touch the ground until it had passed the bewildered Danish 'keeper, Thomas Sorenson, via a half volley on the left foot of Rodriguez. What they do have in common is that fact that they should have defended a lot more, and for scoring ONE goal by means of a fluke. They also did enjoy taking shots from improbable distances, which in the end wasted playing time. Tonight, Ben Thompson, this is your life.
