Shri Ramana Maharishi

     Shri Ramanar was born in Thiruchuzhi, near Madurai in 1896.  his original name was Venkataraman.  At the early age of 16 he experienced a near-death incident.  He completely overcame the fear of death and started an objective enquiry on the following lines: "Now I am dead.  My body is being carried for cremation. My body will be destroyed but I still exist to watch the scene. If what is destroyed is only my body but not I, then who am I?".
