Ø       City well connected with the surrounding districts.

Ø       City known as capital of Saurashtra region.

Ø       City Corporation is financially sound and having the lowest administration expenses compare to other cities of the country.

Ø       More professional management than the other cities of the State.

Ø     Being a local self-Governing Body, RMC is having limited power for execution.

Ø     Limited/unavailable land resources in the city area.

Ø       Shifting of railway track can solve many problems regarding road and traffic management.

Ø       M.P. of Rajkot constituency is a member in council of ministers of Central Government, who can represent the issues before railway authorities with strong influence.

Ø       Shifting of S.T. depot. Which also help to resolve the problem of traffic and parking.

Ø       Availability of financial resources from the Government in terms of loans, subsidies and grants.

Ø        Encroachments on roads.

Ø        Increase in number of vehicles without any monitoring.

SOLIDWASTE MANAGEMENT & PUBLIC HEALTH

Ø       Land is already identified for the land filling.

Ø       All points of the waste collection and generation are covered regularly.

Ø       Informal waste collection activity is already in the processes in the form of Rag pickers.

Ø       5% area served with house-to-house collection.

Ø       Existing staff is well provided with the necessary tools and equipments.

Ø       Almost 40% of the city area served by the Dumper placer container.

Ø       Wastes are collected separately for the slaughterhouse and vegetable markets.

Ø       Waste collected from the slums on the regular basis.

Ø       Bio- Medical waste are collected in separate & identified by ‘+’ mark, dumper placer container from each wards.

Ø       No hazardous waste is generated in the city limit.

Ø       Construction debris is collected by the RMC construction wing for the land filing.

Ø     Finance, technical know how, manpower not available.

Ø     Multiple handling of the waste for almost 50% of the area.
