Being a denizen of the Networld, it has become imperative for me to have my own web page and if you have stumbled across it, this must be your worst day. I am basically a fun loving, non-conservative happy go lucky guy. I dont plan my life but take it as it comes. I love to read books (textbooks are exceptions), watch movies, hang around with friends, play and watch cricket, eat good food. I never get tired of Fredrick Forsyth, good coffee, Ice cream, popcorn, cross words and Friday Nights (used to be Saturday nights in India).

Born in the South Indian city of Madurai, the city of Tamil Sangham, I have spent my early part of childhood in various places throughout Tamil Nadu. Thanks to my banker father who was constantly on the move, I spent my early years in Kumbakonam, Thanjavur, Trichy, Erode and then finally back to Thanjavur. My father made Thanjavur his hub while he moved around it for his work for the next 10 years. I did most of my schooling in Thanjavur. My adolescence was spent mostly in Thanjavur. Thanjavur is a rustic small town with its own beauty and rich cultural heritage which cannot be described in words. I have had my share of small time infatuations, adolescent adventures, my little forays into the 'prohibited areas' of youth and lots of sports. So I have fond memories of Thanjavur. My life was directed to what it is now by some of the greatest teachers, whom I can never forget.

After ingesting and vomiting the 12th Std textbooks, I came out of my school to the obvious destination of middle class Indians, the Engineering College. I joined Mechanical Engineering program ( Don't ask me if I had an interest in it.. Frankly I did not know what various branches of Engineering were, except of course Civil Engineering which was pretty obvious) in PSG College of Technology, which was supposed to be one of the premier Engineering Schools of South India. This was the first time I was away from home and really enjoyed and learnt a lot (nothing related to Engineering of course). This was the time when I got some really great friends.

After getting my Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, I tried my hand as a Design Engineer in Ashok Leyland Ltd. The company which was doing great till 1996, had a great slump in business in 1997-98. Although people think that this has to do with the uncertain political scenario and incomplete economic reforms, I think the reason is something else. I joined Ashok Leyland Ltd in 1997 and after I quit the company in Aug 1999, the business has started looking up again. I am not suggesting anything. The uncertainity of the industry forced me to move towards greener pastures and I am now in the greenest pasture envisaged by the youth of India. I think I have given a good enough explanation for why I am in the US. I had been stubborn that I would stay in India come what may. Presently I am doing my MS in Mechanical Eng in Louisiana State University.
