My Buddies

MY SCHOOLMATES:

Rajinikumar(Dog): My closest chum in school. We were class mates right from our 6th Std to 12th. He was our pet as he was pushed from pole to post by us all. Real fun loving person. He is now working as a Research Associate in Electronics and Instrumentation in PSG College of technology. Incidentally he is the only guy tommy has ever barked at.

Thulasiram: Thulasi and me are also class mates from 6th to 12th. He is a great cricketer who represented Tamilnadu U16 team although there was no support from our school. He is very honest and too straightforward which sometimes would seem arrogant. These 2 guys were so close to my mom that they will kid her till her wits end. He now works in ICF, Madras and plays cricket for that team.

Muthaiah(Sottayan): Muthu got introduced to me through Thulasi when we were in our 11th. Typical of that age, Muthu provided us with the inspiration to do unthinkable things just for the fun of it. Notorious for his lies, Muthu is now a software Engineer in Malaysia(or is it Singapore?)

Bhadri(Panju): Panju Bhadri got his name from his spongy hair and he was the Math genie of our group. Predictably, he went on to top in Math in his college and then finished his MCA. He is presently a software engineer in Madras

MY NEIGHBORS:

Rajan(Mama):  Mama and me were the closest friends in our neighborhood. We were the youngest in our cricket team. I bowled leg spin and he Off spin. We used to practise alone near our house every evening. We used to discuss a lot and we were thinking of becoming communists before better sense prevailed. He is now a medical rep in Vizhag and I have lost contact with him.

Rajesh(Left): We had 2 Rajeshs in our team and since he batted Left, the name stuck on. I would have been better off if my team mates called me " Right". But they called me " Omakuchi" because I was wiry then. Left is a friend who would give anything to you. Very melodramatic and filled with idiosyncracies, he was truly the friend in need. He is now in his final MCA

Kumar(Sony): Our team's WK and the most sober and practical person of our lot. A real calm and composed man and befitting him, he is now a child's specialist in Thanjavur.

MY CHUMS IN ASHOK LEYLAND:

Mohan: Mohan is my batch mate at ALL and we worked together in ALL Technical Center. He is a pious, hardworking and softspoken guy. He is a manager's dream of an engineer. We had a great time together and one of our acheivements was to form a cricket team at Tech Center infusing some interest in an otherwise monotonous place. I dont know if the team still exists.

Senthil(Gundan): Senthil and me hit off right away since we had similiar ideas. Cheerful, bubbling with energy, he brought with him an air of informality which quickly caught up on everybody surrounding him. The train travels we had was moments which can be cherished.

Karuppaiah: Karups is the grand old man of our batch. He has a great smile and we had a great time in Bangalore when we learnt some finer points of inebriation. He perfected the art and fooled everybody. Very kind and observant.

FRIENDS IN LSU:

Alagiri: My room mate and close friend and a great cook. S5 is a bit mushy-mushy type and he is slowly becoming Mr Nice Guy.

Satish(Baadu): Satish is the kingpin of Mystery Spot(Apt 257) and he is my companion in all "extra-curricular" activities. Thanks to Satish, I have started reading some really interesing books. Baadu's looks belie the ultra-brilliance in him. I flipped when I saw his UG project work.

Ravi: Ravi, Mystery spot's other occupant, is a complex personality who has been the most helpful to us. He made life pretty easy for us and made us feel at home. I dont remember how many rides he has given us to the grocers without making a fuss.

Amar(Bhim): Amar is a cool guy. A master in JAVA, I keep wondering at the time management he does. He finds time to work on his course work, his asstship and his fitness. Truly a " AMAZING INDIAN".

Caution: If the guys in Apt #257 do not mend their ways, the title "Mystery Spot" would be forfeited.
