Although comprised mainly of suitably grandoise music from noted British film scorer David Arnold (Stargate, Independence Day, Tomorrow Never Dies), the soundtrack to the latest Bond film Die Another Day will nonetheless interest most because of its inclusion of Madonna's twitchy, eponymous theme song. Sounding like a hybrid of Music's Mirwais-influenced, Parisian synth bloopery with 2002's bumper crop of laptop glitchcore, Die Another Day is handily Madonna's strongest single in years, and a welcome update to the broody, string-drenched film noir sequences that have heralded past Bond films of the 90s with diminishing returns. |
