BFA (Painting) – 3rd, 4th and 5th Year

 

Paper – 1 (Art History and Aesthetics) – 100 Marks

1.         Styllies and schools in Europian Art in out line -

            (a) Byzantina Mosaics  

            (b) Gothic characteristics

            (c) High Renaissance

            (d) Impression

            (e) Post-Impression

2.         Art of China and Japan

            (a) China-six canons, calligraphy

            (b) Japan- Screen Painting, Wood Block Printing, Kamakiru period

3.         Comparative Study of Eastern and Western Art

4.         Art Criticism

 

Paper – 2 (Study - I) - 100 marks (30 – Assessment + 70 – Examination)

Study of human figure and portrait in any medium

 

Paper – 3 (Study – II) - 100 marks (30 – Assessment + 70 – Examination)

Out door study – Landscape, Animal, birds and rapid sketches

 

Paper – 4 (Composition) - 200 marks (60 – Assessment + 140 – Examinnation)

1.         Interior and Landscape subjects

2.         Composition exercise to understand the use of space and form

3.         Composition of still life

 

Paper – 5 (Methods and Materials) - 100 marks (30 – Assessment + 70 – Examination)

1.         Study of different methods of painting on silk, banner, egg tempera etc.

2.         Study of Fresco techniques – Ajanta, Italian wet, Jaipuri etc.

 

Paper – 6 (Optional – any one out of Graphic/Design & Craft – Textile/Photography/Pottery)

- 100 marks (30 – Assessment + 70 – Examination)

A.        Graphic: Relief, Intaglio and Plano graphic process

B.         Design & Craft – Textile:

            1. Designing for Batic, Textile Printing and Weaving.

            2. Knowledge of weaving and printing block screen

            3. Batic on Cloth

C.         Photography:

            1. Out door creative photography

            2. Documentary and Micro photography

            3. Dark room practice

D.        Pottery:

            1. Thdowing on potters wheel and coil process

            2. Slip casting

            3. Decoration

            4. Firing and glazing

 

NOTE: Third and Fourth Year Examinations are conducted by the College as Class Promotion Exam. and

Fifth Year Examination is conducted by the University as BFA (Painting) Exam.
