Making of the history with Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Mikhail Timofeyvich Kalashnikov

Gandhi said "Non-violence and cowardice are contradictory terms. Non-violence is the greatest virtue, cowardice the greatest vice. Non-violence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man."

Bhagat Singh chose violence instead, rather than being a coward follower of the colonialist oppressors. He unfolded " The philosophy of the bomb " in his Revolution against the imperialism, challenging the privileged states, of the subjugation of another nations' liberty.

I am with, legendary Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Mikhail Timofeyvich Kalashnikov, the globally renowned Russian arms-designer of assault rifle AK-47's, at International Defence Exhibition DEFEXPO INDIA 2004 , from 4th to 7th of February, 2004.

Kalashnikov is 10th November 1919 born and now 84 years young.

Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Mikhail Timofeyvich Kalashnikov works as a Chief Designer and is one of the Co-Chairing Board of Director, at Open Joint Stock Company (OJSC) viz. Izhmash Conventional Arms Company , founded at 1807, situated at Izhevsk city at western Urals, in the province of Udmurt Republic, at Russian Federation. Mikhail T. Kalashnikov and Izhmash hold all global patents and intellectual property rights in AK series of arms which are registered at Eurasian Patent Organization. Thus Izhmash is the sole Original Equipment Manufacturers (O.E.M.s), of entire range of versions of Kalashnikov Assault Rifles (AKs) , in the entire world. It is here at Izhmash Arms Company, Mikhail Kalashnikov began his career in 1949, after he did his apprentice as a technical clerk at the Turkistan-Siberian Railway Department. He had joined the Soviet Army in 1938 & finished his Tank Mechanical School from Kiev's special military region before joining the Railway department and Izhmash. He is distinguished with Doctors into Engineering Science. The gun AK-47 is an acronym meaning 'Automatic Kalashnikov' which was developed from '1947 base-gun models' he had developed originally and AK-47 thus derives its name from him.

Mikhail Kalashnikov is also the Chief Advisor, Federal State Unitary Enterprise (FSUE) "Rosoboronexport" that is a State-run Corporation for exports and imports of Russian armaments and defence equipment., besides being the President of Russian Conventional Arms Manufacturers' Association.

Dr. Kalashnikov has authored a book viz. From the Stranger's Doorstep to the Kremlin Gates and the said masterpiece can be obtained by requesting at the publisher Military Parade Ltd. at Moscow or e-mail for a copy of the same at [email protected]

Although, at Mikhail Kalashnikov's utmost displeasure, the AK assault rifle versions are illegally manufactured by many nations, since many decades now, without any permissions or licensees from either him, or Izhmash, or Russian Federation, in infringement of the registered patent ownerships. The manufacturing country henceforth is a global intellectual property pirate and prosecutable under violations of international intellectual property law/s.

This also becomes a threat to international security and peace; as such rogue countries supply the AKs to gunrunners & illicit arms traffickers, who in turn supply them to violent groups. Thus AKs are grossly misused against innocent humans, by being made available to terrorists, rebels, fugitives & organized criminal groups. Mikhail Kalashnikov now plans to launch a global crusade against this abuse of AKs.
