The Circle of the Five Elements holds certain qualities as universal virtues that all should seek to master. These virtues are:

Honesty - The great bard said, "above all else to thine own self be true". Having accomplished this we will know how to be true to others. From here the virtues follow

Charity- Giving, compassion, patience, and forgiveness. Patience and Compassion influence others to better the world. At times this requires a sacrifice of self, but the return will be ten-fold. Be forgiving in all you do, that others may forgive you as well

Courage - Face your challenges bravely. Do not allow the fear of failure to balk you. In overcoming adversity we gain courage and wisdom to face the next challenge. In all aspects of life, whether heroic or mundane, face your challanges with courage but temper that courage with wisdom.

Loyalty- We all need friends to depend on. Without them we would surely fail. Do not alienate these friends. Stand by them when they are in need and do not hesitate to call on them when in need yourself. Together we can overcome any obstacle

Wisdom - Wisdom binds all the virtues. Wisdom tells us to charge into battle or to wait another day. Wisdom discriminates the needy from those who ask help falsely. Wisdom is the foundation of all that we do. We must develop Wisdom, or fall as surely as a house built on a poorly laid foundation.
