S.P.A.T. (Simplest Practical Amplitude-modulated Transmitter)
Waaaay back in 1998, Medium Wave Alliance sponsored a transmitter design contest. The goal of the SPAT Design Challenge was the creation of a new design for an affordable, easy-to-build AM transmitter for hobbyist uses such as Part 15 broadcasting. Congratulations to Ian Liston-Smith, our winner!
To our American readers I should mention that the schematic is written European-style. 1K5 means one point five kilohms, or 1500 ohms. 10nF is not a typo, that's ten nanofarads.
