Getting to Know You, or, General Crap
Name: Amy Dotta
Nicknames: Aimless (a long and rambling story), Amyla (Amylou,
AmyLin), Amers, Squeak(ers), Flamey, ChiggyWoman(I almost *gasp* forgot
that one, sorry Brotherman), Gilean, bookworm (thanks Curtis), The Quiet
One, The Dotta (damn my coworkers), Pot Pie (but only to Meghan); etc

Pets: Flame (cat), Liza (dog)- pictures.
Rest in peace, Catfish.
Hometown/Current Residence: St. Louis, Missouri. Thank
god, I finally graduated from the University of Missouri- St. Louis (aka
UMSL- what a surprise!). Currently I'm
trying to make with the "real life." It's going fairly well so far...
Zodiac Sign: Cancer. (Just in case anyone wondered. I always
thought it was a cheap pickup line, though.) Oh yeah, and my blood type
is B... heh.
My Current Desktop Theme: right now, my desktop looks
like this. Yes, that is Yugi and mou hitori no
Yugi. (It was a cute picture before I made a crappy wallpaper out
of it.) The winamp skin of the week is from here.
Photos: of myself and some of the Suspects are here.
Favorites!
Color(s): blue, green, purple
TV shows: None, right now, although I occasionally watch
Smallville because of my embarassing crush on Michael "Sexy Lexy" Rosenbaum.
(I still love Farscape, but those bastards at the SciFi Channel killed
it just like they did MST3K. Morons!)
I don't know why, but I watch Yu-Gi-Oh every afternoon when I'm home.
Eheh.
I also really miss Space: Above and Beyond, Forever Knight,
Gargoyles, the X-Files (when it was still good) and a show probably no
one remembers called Prey. *L* Umm... and I probably shouldn't admit this
in a public place, but I used to watch that cartoon Mummies Alive. And I
liked it. :-Þ
Movies: Spirited Away, Monsters Inc, Lilo & Stitch,
10 Things I Hate About You, The Changeling, Harry Potter (either one),
LotR: Fellowship of the Ring/The Two Towers, A Knight's Tale, Willow, Snatch,
Contact, Fantasia, Treasure Planet, Much Ado About Nothing(with Kenneth
and the leather pants!), Princess Mononoke, the original Star Wars trilogy,
Star Trek 3 and 4, Velvet Goldmine, Labyrinth, Legend, The Princess Bride,
The Full Monty, Sleepy Hollow, A Nightmare Before Christmas, The Fisher
King, The Sixth Sense, Little Voice, The Frighteners, Empire Records, The
Secret of Roan Inish, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon... the list keeps growing.
Books: Anything by Neil (Gaiman, that is). "Neil, Neil,
he's our man..." (c'mon Jenny, chant with me!) Anything by Terry
Pratchett. Other authors whose name on a book pretty much ensures I'll
buy it: James Alan Gardner. Charles de Lint. Diane Duane. Laurell K Hamilton.
Jim Butcher. Diana Wynne Jones. And so far, Julie Czerneda, Lynn Flewelling.
Of course, there are numerous others, too many to list here.
Anime:: Escaflowne (and the movie), Weiss Kreuz (also called
Knight Hunters), Trigun, Gundam Wing, Orphen, NieA Under Seven, Yami no Matsuei ("Descendants
of Darkness"), Those Who Hunt Elves, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, Vampire
Princess Miyu, Petshop of Horrors, Evangelion, X (the series, not the
movie!), Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, Blue
Seed, FAKE, Hellsing, Trouble Chocolate, InuYasha, RahXephon, His &
Her Circumstances..
Manga: Mars, Fake, Yami no Matsuei, Wish, Clover, X/1999. Eagerly
awaiting Tokyopop's English publications of Fake (though they better not
try to, erm, "straighten it out", not that they really could), Pet Shop of
Horrors, Gravitation, and a few others.
Musical: (yes! I like musicals!) Into the Woods. Also Cats, Phantom,
Jekyll & Hyde.
Magazine: Discover , Game Informer
CD: any Loreena McKennitt and whatever mix CD I've most
recently made.
Music groups/singers/composers: Loreena, Tori, Evanescence,
U2, Gravity Kills, Marvelous 3, the Beatles, the Dropkick Murphys, Me First
& the Gimmie Gimmies, Dead Can Dance, Vivaldi, Saint-Saëns...
ugh. I could go on. But as it happens, I won't.
Other Stuff (I know, I KNOW I said I was done!)
I never chat anymore, although my friend Lael does keep trying
to help me find my way back *grin* I can (sometimes) be found on ICQ and
have recently begun updating my blog on a regular
basis. Those suckers are addictive!
Other Unfortunate Hobbies: Gaming with the Usuals, reading
everything in sight- including fanfic on the 'net (all you prudes best
cover your ears-- I am a diehard yaoi fan), talking to Flame ("my" cat,
yes, I'm a human servant) and obeying her every whim (*L*), replying
to too much email, and updating this site. Ahh, the joys of having no
life.
