Character History
Vale was born in the city
of Tarsis to a middle-class family. His mother was a kender who ran
a pet store and his father was a human who served in the city militia.
He learned how to use a long sword from his father, and his mother taught
him about animals. When he was five years of age a traveling magician
stopped by his mother's store and gave her a ferret that he had.
He said that the creature was a nuisance and he did not wish to have it
any more. Vale's mother decided to give this ferret to her son, and
Vale was overjoyed to be given care of it. The creature's name was
Tyr, and they developed a close bond.
Eventually Vale
was stricken with the affliction known as Wanderlust. He took Tyr
with him and left his house, while setting a course southwards out of the
city. On the outskirts of town he came upon a man beset by thieves.
Vale watched as the man fought them off, and he finally spoke with him.
The man introduced himself as Sir Tarra, a Solamnic Knight of the Crown,
and said that he had been going into Icewall to seek adventure. Vale
and the man traveled together and Sir Tarra taught him how to use a morning
star. Their adventurers were many, and during that time Vale also
learned how to fire a light crossbow. It was by far one of the best
times of his life, but then something terrible occured. They were
out on an expedition to a part of the glacier which neither had ever visited
before. There they were caught in an ambush with ice trolls and Sir
Tarra was killed. Vale eventually vanquished them with the help of
some companions, but the event changed him a lot and he decided to leave
the tundra.
Sir Tarra had often spoken
of his family in Solamnia, and Vale decided to head northwards to this
land. He returned to Tarsis and then traveled through the Plains
of Dust, over the mountains, and into the land of Abanasinia. At
a town named Solace he met a kender named Tasslehoff Burrfoot and purchased
a map of the Solamnia from him. Then he reached the Straits of Schallsea
and joined the crew of a ship. It was here that he learned the art
of seamanship. Eventually he disembarked in a port town and traveled
up through Solamnia. Eventually he realized that the map was wrong
and he had to learn to navigate the area on his own. After traveling
through a large forest he arrived at Castle SilverHelm and joined up with
Sir Thurgood Silverhelm on a mission to clear his father of murder charges.

Size: Medium
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 150 lbs.
Hair: Dark Brown
Eyes: Ice Blue
Skin: Fair
Handedness: Right
Birth Date: December 5th, 323 AC
Vale wears a tunic of
light tan color with blue trim. He has brown leggings held up by
a leather belt with several belt pouches, along with knee-length boots.
A long, forest green cloak completes the outfit. His sword is kept
in an undecorated scabbard on his belt, and the dirk is kept in his left
boot. The only other visible item of particular interest is a steel
medallion on a silver chain he wears around on his neck. On the medallion
is engraved the symbols of the kingfisher, crown, sword, and rose, all
of them trappings of the Knights of Solamnia. In lands friendly to
the order he wears it for all to see, but in others he keeps it under his
shirt. He has no distinguishing marks of particular interest.
Claustrophobic, Elven Wine
Vale is quite absent minded at times, or
so he seems. However, he has admitted before that much of it is simply
an act
put up to hide the true pain he feels inside.
He is a very honorable and just person, and he believes that though there
must be a balance in the universe, striving
for good will not upset it.
"Despite the things that happen, no matter
how terrible they may be, life must go on."

role, but is more than
capable of handling any situation that arises (he just doesn't know it
at times). He has a

will fight fiercely to
defend the honor and values of himself, his friends and even complete strangers
if needed.
Were half kenders allowed
in the knighthood, he would be an exemplary example to them all.
